Cloud infrastructures are becoming more complex and larger. With Crossplane, companies can model infrastructure and platform APIs directly within Kubernetes. Crossplane extends Kubernetes into a full control plane for infrastructure, enabling declarative provisioning, automation, and abstraction of resources across multiple providers.
We are happy to conduct tailored courses for your team - on-site, remotely or in our course rooms.
In this course, we will work together to gradually build a platform based on Crossplane and Kubernetes. Our focus is on a targeted selection of topics to provide a deep understanding of the following concepts:
- Introduction to Crossplane and its architecture
- Providers, Managed Resources & their lifecycle
- Introduction to XRDs (CompositeResourceDefinitions)
- Compositions & Claims: abstraction and self-service
- Functions and Providers
- Secrets and connection management
- Multi-tenancy & governance with Namespaces and RBAC
- Observability & debugging Crossplane
- Security (least privilege, secret handling, provider identities)
- Crossplane im Enterprise-Einsatz (Packages, RuntimeConfiguration, Best Practices)
This course is suitable for both beginners and advanced users and offers a cloud-agnostic approach, meaning the concepts can be applied across different providers.
We look forward to building a flexible and scalable platform together!
Disclaimer: The actual course content may vary from the above, depending on the trainer, implementation, duration and constellation of participants.
Whether we call it training, course, workshop or seminar, we want to pick up participants at their point and equip them with the necessary practical knowledge so that they can apply the technology directly after the training and deepen it independently.
Building practical know-how and understanding Crossplane as an Infrastructure-as-Code platform. At the end, participants will be able to independently create their own compositions, provision infrastructure declaratively, and integrate Crossplane into their platform workflows.
A proven mix of concepts, live coding and collaboration on an exemplary platform application. Always geared towards the efficient usage of Crossplane in real-life projects and production.
Platform, software, or system engineers who want to manage, automate, and abstract infrastructure through Kubernetes.
Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with YAML, Go-Templating and declarative infrastructure is helpful.
Each participant receives a questionnaire and installation instructions after registration. Depending on the course, we provide a suitable lab environment (e.g., Kubernetes cluster in the cloud or locally).
Thank you for your request, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sign up for the waiting list for more public course dates. Once we have enough people on the waiting list, we will determine a date that suits everyone as much as possible and schedule a new session. If you want to participate directly with two colleagues, we can even plan a public course specifically for you.

Crossplane was created by Upbound in 2018 and donated to the CNCF in 2020. The goal was to extend Kubernetes concepts to infrastructure and provide a common API for different cloud providers.
Since then, Crossplane has evolved into a key building block of modern platform engineering strategies. With the introduction of Compositions and XRDs, Crossplane allows companies to define their own platform APIs and provide self-service for developers.
Today, Crossplane is used globally by companies of all sizes and is considered a cornerstone of "Infrastructure as Code" in Kubernetes-centered environments.
