Container & Kubernetes DevOps Introduction
Build containers with Docker and Podman, orchestrate them on Kubernetes clusters and automate CI/CD pipelines with Helm, Kustomize and ArgoCD in this three-day DevOps course.
This course offers a thorough introduction to the use of containers and Kubernetes in a DevOps context. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of containers, their orchestration with Kubernetes, as well as the associated construction of CI/CD pipelines, and thus learn how they can operate applications on Kubernetes clusters in an efficient and automated manner. The course is modular, and the public offering is designed to last three days, while internally the choice can be made between two, three, and four days.

History
Kubernetes was originally developed by Google and is based on their internal system called "Borg". The project was open-sourced in 2014 and has since been managed by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). The principal architects were Joe Beda, Brendan Burns, and Craig McLuckie.
In parallel, Docker, developed by Solomon Hykes and originally part of dotCloud, revolutionized containerization by introducing a user-friendly interface and standardized format. First released in 2013, it led to explosive growth in container technology adoption.
Today, Kubernetes and container technologies are fundamental building blocks of modern cloud-native architectures. They have not only significantly influenced the DevOps movement but also driven the evolution of microservices architectures, service mesh (like Istio), and GitOps practices.
